“Jake Morrison was born amongst the fiery glaciers of Iceland and raised along the sunny beaches of Niceville, Florida. While in school, he set the curve of nearly every test and was generally regarded as a very tall smarty pants. He worked for a few years at Universal Studios Orlando before attending Full Sail University for graphic design, where he graduated saluditorian. After a year of working on “secret stuff” at Harris Corporation on Florida’s east coast and another year of “other fun secret government things” at SAIC, Jake decided a change of scenery was due and moved on a whim to Austin, Texas to work for Blizzard Entertainment. Soon after arriving in Austin, he discovered Scare For A Cure, a non-profit organization that builds a haunted house for charity every Halloween, and he quickly became their special effects director specializing in blood cannons and going bump in the night. Jake currently resides in Leander, which is about as far away from Austin as you can get while still being considered “close to Austin”, decorates his home with as much geeky merchandise as is possible to own, cultivates his beard to protect against zombies, and wants to be a Jedi when he grows up.

The Bride

Nikki Jeske grew up in a very small town in southeastern Wisconsin, amid corn fields and woods and lakes. She went to college on the banks of the great lake Gitchegumee where she worked for degrees in both Creative Writing and Outdoor Education. Past adventures include portaging and canoeing in the Boundary Waters, being stalked by mountain lions and chased by wild bison while winter camping in the Badlands, leading pirate raids down with the Mississippi River with a group of rag tag high schoolers, listening to the ethereal sounds of the Northern Lights over the Apostle Islands, and being flown around the US to speak at conferences about fundraising and developing websites for animal shelters and rescues. Aside from Wisconsin, she’s lived in Minnesota, Tennessee, and now resides in Texas in a small house outside of Austin with Jake, their mutt Athena, two cats, and rather ornery boa constrictor. Nikki is a firm believer that the Universe knows better than she does and she tries awfully hard to let it do what it will because sometimes it brings really good things into her life (like Jake and his mac and cheese). She’s stubborn though and sometimes needs a reminder. When not working on haunted house things and trying to stop Jake from falling off ladders, Nikki is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer in Austin and tries to remember to use her superhero powers for the sake of good. She succeeds about half the time.
